Chasing invoices is work nobody is paid to do. It is an email, then a reminder email, then a phone call, then a bank transfer that arrives without a reference and has to be matched by hand. Invoice Hub moves that onto a portal the customer uses themselves.
The problem
The manual loop has two costs. The obvious one is the time spent sending and reconciling. The less obvious one is that every step of friction between the invoice and the payment adds days, and days of float are what a small business actually feels. Email is the root of it: there is no state in an inbox, so nobody can see what is outstanding without reconstructing it.
What I built
A portal where a customer signs in, sees every invoice and its status, and pays online. Payments run through Mollie, which is what the Dutch market expects, so settling an invoice is an iDEAL transfer rather than a card form. Reminders go out through Resend on a schedule rather than by someone remembering. The interface is in Dutch, because the people using it are.
How it works
The hard part of payment integration is not taking the payment, it is being correct about what happened afterwards. A provider tells you asynchronously, sometimes twice, sometimes out of order, and the invoice has to end up in the right state regardless of the sequence the webhooks arrive in.
